The will to defend the country is a sense of community. You help your friends because that's what you're supposed to do. A spirit of volunteerism that doesn't ask for background. It's enough that you're involved in doing something.

It's about functionality. Fitness, routines and basic skills. Equipment is kept in good condition because nothing breaks by accident. Everyday life is kept together because it's part of the whole.

It's also the backbone. The ability to stay calm when there's pressure around you. The ability to recognize what's trying to tear you down and what's building you up. The ability to do your part even when the circumstances are bad.

It's training for the worst. Not because it's expected, but because readiness doesn't happen at the last minute. Collaboration, repetition, and realism make us resilient.
